Josh Arnold
Professor, Warren Wilson UniversityView all Educators, Researchers
My name is Joshua Arnold (I answer to either Josh or Joshua). I am a working-class Southern California native, who grew up in the sprawl of the Inland Empire. I am a U.S. Army veteran who decided I wanted to study food systems after witnessing first-hand the environmental damage and food insecurity resulting from Iraq’s occupation. I am now a Professor of Sustainable Agriculture at Warren Wilson University (out in North Carolina). I am a “science, practice, movement” agroecologist, and believe that most agricultural problems are not simply answered by the newest technology. My greatest joys are teaching and working alongside my community partners, and I am a fierce advocate for both. When not teaching or looking for insects, I enjoy hiking and exploring the world with my twin daughters.
