Co-Founder, Agroecology CommonsView all Educators, Farmers, Researchers
Leah (she/they) is one of six co-founders of Agroecology Commons, a self-directed worker nonprofit focused on knowledge sharing, community action, and global solidarity for decolonized land stewardship, collective healing, and justice in the food movement. She received her B.S. in Environmental Science from UC Berkeley which initiated her path in agroecology and was inspired by social movements such as the MST and La Vía Campesina to focus on farmer-to-farmer organizing. Leah was named a California Food Systems Changemaker in 2018 by the Berkeley Food Institute. Her work-passions converge around anti-racist nonprofit succession planning, healing justice, cooperative governance, land rematriation, queer ecology, silvopasture, and seed saving. Leah also stewards a microdairy and herdshare with goats, sheep, and bees.
